AWARD Staff Updates

We announce three new AWARD team members:

Pauline Bomett is already well known within the G&D community.  She now has a new job as AWARD’s Training Coordinator. She will work closely with partners in the delivery of AWARD’s ambitious training program for mentoring, leadership, and science and proposal writing. She will also coordinate training-

of-African-trainers, working hand-in-hand with AWARD’s Mentoring Coordinator, Dorothy Mukhebi.  She will report to AWARD’s Project Manager, Margaret Kroma. Pauline comes to AWARD from G&D. She has an MBA from Moi University and training experience through attendance of all three G&D’s leadership courses. She is also trained in human resource management, financial management, cultural diversity and Stephen Covey’s popular 7 habits of highly effective people course.

Sharon Ongadi has joined AWARD as a Program Assistant with the main responsibility of managing the M&E database and providing important support to the AWARD Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator. Sharon previously worked in the office of the District Election Coordinator in Kakamega District and also worked as a Registration Clerk with the Electoral Commission of Kenya, later as a Nutritionist at Special Treatment Health Centre in Nairobi North District, and at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital in Eldoret. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University.

Obadiah Wambua has joined AWARD as an Administrative Assistant, working closely with Marion Kihori.

He comes to AWARD with several years work experience from Health NGOs Network (HENNET) where he worked as an Administrative Assistant, and at AMREF where he worked as a Human Resources Assistant. Obadiah has a diploma in Human Resource Management from Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM-K) and is soon to graduate in Business Administration (Human Resources) from Kenya Methodist University.

We welcome Obadiah and Sharon, and extend our warmest congratulations to Pauline on her promotion.

Sulafa Silim

Sulafa Silim will be leaving us after a year with AWARD as the science communication specialist.  She is off to further explore the worth of digital media and public relations.

Why are you leaving us so quickly?.

We will miss your big smile and kindness!. You are a very outgoing person!. I remember during the Orientation Workshop in Mombasa how you made some of us fit so easily into the big team.

Sulafa!. I will surely miss you please send me your new contact. I want to keep in touch. How good to put faces behind the hardwork. I am very glad to see Pauline, Sharon and Obadiah. Welcome to the wonderful team! Nno (Ibo for welcome) 🙂

oh no no no AWARD please where is sulafa going??? it will take time to adapt without her at AWARD she is a real icon of love, unity and integrity. Sulafa i personally shall miss the moments (FEW) that we shared.
